Guidance and counseling in our school play an essential role in effective teaching and learning.
It provides support and assistance that enable students to develop their academic, social, emotional, and personal skills; leading to improved academic achievement, personal development, and overall well-being.
We believe that to succeed academically, we require wholistically stable students. For this reason, the school administration treasurers the Guidance and counseling of students.
For effective guidance and counseling programs; there is a collaboration among teachers, professional counselors, and parents
As a department, we play the following roles:
- Offering psycho-social support to our students.
- Identifying and addressing issues that can affect students’ learning e.g. drugs and substance abuse, low self-esteem, and interpersonal relationships among others.
- Helping students develop problem-solving skills, decision-making skills, and coping strategies to manage challenging situations.
- Offering career guidance.
- Ensuring students realize their full potential.
- Mobilizing resources to assist needy students.
The department is well structured holding its sessions on Wednesdays from 4.00 pm to 5.15 pm and on Mondays during the assembly.
It includes the peer counselors who are led by the student warden, who is the third in command in the school students’ leadership.
