The Boarding Department is well established and equipped with all that is required to cater to the welfare of our students. To mention a few of the facilities: –
- We have a well-established departmental office with two members i.e. Mr. Wanyoike Charles (H.O.D) and Mr. Irungu James (Assistant H.O.D).
- We have six well-oriented dormitories with a capacity of 600 boys and 28 bathrooms. Five of these dormitories are named after the mountains and the sixth is named after Commissioner Josphat Mutugi who was among the founders of Mukangu Boys High School and who contributed immensely to the growth of the school. Each dormitory has been assigned a house teacher to maintain orderliness.
- We also have enough water from four sources i.e. piped water, two boreholes, and water harvested from the roofs during the rainy season.
- We have a spacious dining hall with a capacity of 700 students.
- Our school is well-lighted through electricity, installation of solar flood lights and a generator.
- In addition, we have installed thirty (30) CCTV cameras in all parts of our school to ensure there is safety at all times as well as to enable us to monitor students at all times.
- We also have a well-established and equipped kitchen that is managed by three cooks who work professionally to ensure food is well-prepared.
- In addition to kitchen matters, we also have a cateress who works hand in hand with the boarding office in the supervision of all the cooked meals at all times to ensure food given to students is up to standard.
The department works closely with other departments especially the games department to ensure all students participate in other co-curricular activities in order to identify and nurture their talents.
