It was officially registered in 1972 and is sponsored by the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (P.C.E.A) Mukangu Parish. It began as a mixed day secondary school.
Mukangu Boys' High School has grown over the years to a double-stream school with a population of about 400 students and sufficient modern facilities. It provides quality education and enhances discipline through teamwork and professionalism to produce all-round graduates.
